European River Cruising - Avalon Waterways

When you decide to do a European holiday, may I suggest a River Cruise? I recently took one and had a wonderful experience. We cruised the “Romantic Rhine” on the Avalon Creativity. The size of the boat, was to my liking, a real plus. First, the boat reminded me of a smaller boutique hotel: Comfortable room with a view, that changes day to day, a nice lounge area and a GOOD Bar! There was a small gym, library with games and book exchange. The kind of amenities you would expect in a boutique hotel. The food was prepared with pleasing the palate in mind at the same time very efficient . Along with a “bend over backward” staff on board, activities and services were excellent.

But you really go on vacations to see the sights, and the boat takes you right to the center of town. When they were founded centuries ago ,the towns riverfront was basically the center of town. That's where the land journey begins.

Knowledgeable guides will take you around the best parts of each stop and give you an insight of life when the town was founded and it’s history to present day. Many of the guides are university educated and reside in the towns and surrounding areas, so they are passionate about their city.

Because of the size of the boat, (the passenger list is 120-168), groups are a manageable 25 - 30 at max instead of 45 - 60, and the plus is that you’re walking with headsets so that you don’t have to stay on top of the tour guide to know what he/she is saying! The Best Part of all is that the tours are INCLUDED in the cost of the cruise, as are all meals, including the dinner wine / beer on board the ship. This is a savings, frequently overlooked on some other cruise options.

Besides meeting other people with the knowledge of river cruising in Europe, this gives you a chance to re-connect with friends and family in a more casual setting and surroundings.

The river cruise experience that you get, from being so up close and personal will give you memories that will last you a lifetime.

River cruising may not be for everyone who needs a go - go activity agenda, but in my opinion, it is one option I thoroughly recommend and would urge anyone when thinking of a European Holiday to consider a river cruise. My agent at Jetway Travel would be more than happy to explain in detail, any questions you might have. . . Give them a Call and See for Yourself!
